Ricki rubs it in…

So we know that Richard and Ricki are back together and have been for quite some time according to the pics that have been circulating as well as various news articles that you can never be quite sure of… Well, I happened to come across Ricki’s profile over at the official BBA website and found this:

Damn! Seems she’s really trying to get the point across… Seems like there’s just no hope for us Richiana fans. :-( And left us with a little something to prove that they will be together “FOREVER AND ALWAYS”

By the way, the caption to this read:

“…Tatiana may have had the toughest homecoming.”

Extract of an article by JEAN SUTHERLAND from the Namibian online:

RICHIANA’ In other news …

sorry, peeps, there’s not much other news.

Plenty of rumours and reports, but little in the way of hard news.

Know ‘Richiana’ fans are suffering from information deprivation - wanting to know what’s up with Richard and his wife (Ricki), Richard and Tatiana, Tatiana and her boyfriend, Tatiana and Richard, Richard and Ofunneka, etc, etc.

All I can tell you at this stage is that the gazunga and dreadlocks are intact. ….

Well, I haven’t heard otherwise.

So I presume they are! And there’ve been no reports out of Tanzania of a Lorena Bobbitt-type scenario going down …

Ouch! Meanwhile, it seems that Angolan housemate Tati might have had the toughest homecoming.

According to unconfirmed reports, her boyfriend Gustav has washed his hands off her, and even ‘reclaimed’ a generator he bought for Tatiana’s sister.

Makes me kind of wonder.

From earlier reports, Gustav has had his own breakout moments in the past, when he hurt Tatiana.

The cycle of different standards for men and women in some sections of our society persists.

Eish! What I had not heard before, and which I presume is true, is that Tatiana’s sister has leukemia (a form of cancer affecting the blood).

FAMILY FEUD
Read on Monday that Richard’s homecoming party was put off until this Saturday to give him time to try and sort out his “personal business”.

MultiChoice has reportedly been putting him up at a hotel, according to a report in City Press.

“He is staying in a hotel until next (this) week.

We want to give him an opportunity to talk to Ricki and see if they can make up,” said the spokesperson for M-Net in Tanzania, Lucy Kihwele.

After arriving home, Richard said: “I will do everything possible to sustain my marriage.”

However, according to City Press, Richard’s family has turned against Ricki.

The report claims that Richard’s father, Vincent Bezuidenhout, and his three siblings, sister Linda and brothers Edward and Louis, are all urging the BBA 2 winner to part ways with his Canadian wife, arguing that she is not good enough for their golden boy.

“She must go. I have made up my mind, she is not good for the family” said a defiant Vincent, according to City Press.

“If he defies our call and reconciles with his wife, Richard will literally be placing a noose around his neck.

Tanzania has lots of beautiful women whom he can marry - or even Tatiana,” he insisted.

Richard’s brother, Louis, said when they asked Ricki to accompany them to the airport to welcome Richard last Wednesday, she refused.

“What type of a wife is she, who does not come to welcome her husband, you ask yourself?” said Louis.

Uhmmmm, yes Louis?! According to Louis, Ricki has been to Richard’s hotel a couple of times.

However, others say that Richard says he hasn’t spoken to his wife yet.

The 'Lectric Law Library's Lexicon On
* Rape *

RAPE - The carnal knowledge of a woman by a man (or vice versa) forcibly and unlawfully against her will. In order to ascertain precisely the nature of this offence, this definition will be analysed.

Much difficulty has arisen in defining the meaning of carnal knowledge, and different opinions have been entertained some judges having supposed that penetration alone is sufficient, while other's deemed emission as an essential ingredient in the crime. But in modern times the better opinion seems to be that both penetration and emission are necessary. It is, however, to be remarked, that very slight evidence may be sufficient to induce a jury to believe there was emission. In Scotland, emission is not requisite.

By the term man in this definition is meant a male of the human species, of the age of fourteen years and upwards; for an infant, under fourteen years, is supposed by law incapable of committing this offence. But not only can an infant uncler fourteen years, if of sufficient mischievous discretion, but even a woman may be guilty as principals in the second degree. And the hushand of a woman may be a principal in the second degree of a rape committed upon his wife, as where he held her while his servant committed the rape.

The knowledge of the woman's person must be forcibly and against her will; and if her consent has not been voluntarily and freely given, (when she has the power to consent,) the offence will be complete, nor will any subsequent acquiescence on her part do away the guilt of the ravisher. A consent obtained from a woman by actual violence, by duress or threats of murder, or by the administration of stupefying drugs, is not such a consent as will shield the offender, nor turn his crime into adultery or fornication.

The matrimonial consent of the wife cannot be retracted, and, therefore, her hushand cannot be guilty of a rape on her as his act is not unlawful. But, as already observed, he may be guilty as principal in the second degree.

As a child under ten years of age is incapable in law to give her consent, it follows, that the offence may be committed on such a child whether she consent or not.

division of a country. In the English law, this is a district similar to that of a hundred; but oftentimes containing in it more hundreds than one.

ROCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) -- The man who held hostages Friday at a New Hampshire campaign office of Sen. Hillary Clinton alleged in a 2002 lawsuit that he was raped by a parish priest.

art.eisenberg.booking.rpd.jpg

Leeland Eisenberg, shown in this booking photo, complained to police that he couldn't get mental health care.

On Friday, 46-year-old Leeland Eisenberg walked into the office with what he said was a bomb strapped to his chest. It turned out to be road flares held with duct tape, police said.

Five people inside the office, including a small child, were eventually released unharmed by the time the incident ended more than five hours later.

Before Eisenberg, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, surrendered to police, he complained about his inability to get mental health treatment. Video Watch the suspect kneel in the street »

Eisenberg filed the lawsuit in September 2002 against the Boston Archdiocese, naming then-Archbishop Cardinal Bernard Law as a defendant.

Law resigned that year amid public outrage after court documents showed he moved priests from parish to parish without disclosing sexual-abuse allegations against them.

According to the lawsuit, Eisenberg was about 21, homeless and living in abandoned cars in a junkyard in Ayer, Massachusetts, when he went to the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Westford, looking for housing and support. Video Watch a report on the lawsuit »

He told the senior priest at the parish about his homelessness, "the loss of his mother and the abuse he suffered at the hands of his violent, alcoholic father," the lawsuit says.

A legal source involved with the case told CNN that Eisenberg also was addicted to alcohol and drugs.

Eisenberg was hired as a painter and given room and board until he could be on his own. According to the lawsuit, a priest at the parish would show Eisenberg pornographic materials, then molest him.

One night, after Eisenberg got drunk at a club, the priest picked him up in a car. On the ride home, Eisenberg passed out, and when he awakened, he found himself being raped in the driveway of the parish, the lawsuit says.

The document says that one week after the alleged incident, Eisenberg tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge in Ayer. Afterward, he went to a psychiatric facility for observation and treatment.

The disposition of the lawsuit was not immediately available.

it’s getting very popular for Older white women to hit up Kenya as sex tourists:

Bethan, 56, lives in southern England on the same street as best friend Allie, 64.They are on their first holiday to Kenya, a country they say is “just full of big young boys who like us older girls”.

Hard figures are difficult to come by, but local people on the coast estimate that as many as one in five single women visiting from rich countries are in search of sex.Allie and Bethan — who both declined to give their full names — said they planned to spend a whole month touring Kenya’s palm-fringed beaches. They would do well to avoid the country’s tourism officials.

“It’s not evil,” said Jake Grieves-Cook, chairman of the Kenya Tourist Board, when asked about the practice of older rich women traveling for sex with young Kenyan men.

…”Old white guys have always come for the younger girls and boys, preying on their poverty … But these old women followed … they never push the legal age limits, they seem happy just doing what is sneered at in their countries.”

humm!!! Maybe Ricki the soon-to -be ex -wife of  big brother africa winner Richard Bezuidenhout should visit Kenya

Big Brother Africa: M-NET to pay N10m fine

Multichoice Nigeria has been fined the sum of N10million for violating Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Act by beaming pornographic images to Nigerian viewers during the ‘Big Bother Africa’ programme which has recently terminated. Officials of the South African-based satellite broadcast outfit had appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Information and National Orientation last Thursday where they apologized for the error in airing the offensive edition.

The chairman of the committee, Hon. Dino Melaye confirmed to newsmen yesterday in Abuja that the company has agreed to pay the fine even as it has already tendered a public apology to Nigerians on the act.

He said that the intention of the House committee was to demand for $5million fine relying on the powers of the regulatory body to fix the fine but officials of the Federal Ministry of Information and the NBC had prevailed on the committee to lesson the fine.

The producer of the offensive edition, Mr. Martins Ngubane has been allegedly relived of his position by the authority of the company to show their displeasure over the airing of the programme.

According to officials of Multichioce Nigeria, Mr. Ngubane was fired under pressure from the House of Representatives which posited that the Nigerian housemate in the programme, Ofunneka Molokwu was not given adequate protection leading to her involvement in an unpalatable scene.

The Operations Director of Multichoice Nigeria, Mr. Joseph Hunda who led the company’s officials to the meeting with the House committee admitted that some operational guidelines of the company were ignored in the broadcast of the edition in question saying that the officials concern have been sanctioned

M-Net fires BBA producer

Extract from Nigerian newspaper, This Day, over at allafrica.com
Mulitichoice yesterday confirmed that the producer of the Big Brother Africa (BBA) Programme, Martins Ngubane who produced the show on the day the Nigerian representative in the programme Ofunneka Molokwu was harassed by one of the Housemates has been relieved of his duties.
This followed pressure from the House of Representatives that the Nigerian girl was not adequately protected and the viewers treated with obscene pictures during the period.
The Operations Director of MNET Africa, Mr Joseph Hunda who appeared in the House Committee Room 13 with eight other officials of the company including Ofunneka apologised to Nigerians that there were certain editorial guidelines spelt out for the producers of the programme which were not adhered to and we have relieved the producer of the programme of his job and the superior who was supposed to supervise the day has equally been sanctioned accordingly.
Ngubani apologised to Nigerians “that those things were not supposed to come on anyway and we are sorry that it appeared and we will not allow it again”.
He explained to the House of Representatives committee on Information and National Orientation that “we commissioned MNET to come out with something that will project the image of Africa. We agree that there were certain things that were not acceptable to a large part of Nigerians. We had discussions with NBC and agreed that we are going to continuously use parental control on all DSTV channels. Our customers should be able to control their homes.”
Chairman of the Committee Honourable Dino David Melaye who represents Buunu/Kaaba federal constituency of Kogi state told the Multichoice officials that Nigerians were fed with too much pornography during the period the programme lasted. NBC actually invited Multichoice twice but they never honoured the invitation.
“We will not allow our image to be dragged on the floor.Ofunneka projected the image of Nigeria and we are proud of her. We earlier banned clips, preview and full airing of the programme and we want you to apologise to Nigerians over what happened,”
Ofuneka Molokwu , the runner up of the 2007 Big brother Africa show who was at the hearing said she is “proud to be a Nigerian and Delta state origin. I thank Multichoice for giving me the opportunity and the Nigerians that kept me on. I take every stride as they come. And am proud to show that am a true Nigerian and African woman”

Big Brother Africa broadcasting scandal

By: Liezl Maclean

The ongoing TV Reality show Big Brother Africa (BBA) has appalled millions of television viewers after airing an episode on M-Net with drunken debauchery and alleged non-consensual sex.

Big Brother households are well known for drama and being habitually controversial but the recent episode of BB Africa pushed the boundaries when a young woman was assaulted on live television. Many viewers found this unacceptable on moral and ethical grounds, as The First Post Magazine pointed out: “The sight of a blind-drunk young woman being assaulted by a Big Brother housemate in what may be the most public rape ever, has turned the stomachs of millions of television viewers.”

The Big Brother website is buzzing with viewer's emails and text messages expressing their disgust. Many of the emails contain photo clips from the programme that appear to show Richard Bezuidenhout, a 24-year-old film student from Tanzania, assaulting Ofunneka Molokwu, a 29-year-old medical assistant from Nigeria, after an extended drinking bout.

In the wake of airing the programme, South Africans are asking just how far television broadcasters are prepared to go to boost viewership.

When Endemol, the company founded by the Dutch duo Joop van den Ende and John de Mol first conceived the idea of Big Brother, the “shower hour” – one hour dedicated to showering naked before the astonished gaze of television viewers – was not yet part of the Big Brother tradition. Watching the housemates today in Big Brother is like watching a bunch of clowns in a circus celebrating nudity, obscenity, eroticism and pornography.

In other countries, housemates have been removed from the house for offensive behaviour. In 2006 the Australian version of the reality show kicked out two male housemates after a controversial “turkey slapping incident”, where a female housemate was allegedly “playfully” sexually molested.

But in South Africa M-Net are seemingly trying to downplay the sex abuse issue while infuriated viewers are asking how Bezuidenhout can now even be allowed to qualify for the BBA prize given his behaviour. “Are we going to reward a man who cheated on his wife on continent-wide television, and abused another woman? How on earth can that be allowed? It is a slap in the face to every African woman,” was how one message summed it up.

Being called the rape capital of the world where, on average, a woman is sexually assaulted every 40 seconds, is South Africa becoming so desensitised to rape that there is not more of an uproar? Sure, BBA is a reality show, but surely in reality shows there are bottom lines. What message does this send out to men and women across Africa? That it is okay to cheat on your wife, to sexually cheat on live television?

The Tonight article quoted Durban-based independent television producer Liza Aziz as saying that this episode of BBA exceeded the bounds of ethical broadcasting. “It is not only demeaning to one woman, but to women in general,” said Aziz.

Has South African broadcasting changed from being conservative to one where anything goes? Where these antics could be aired and allowed to pass without sanction?

House Bans Big Brother Africa Programme

House of Representatives yesterday ordered the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), to discontinue the airing of any clip or debate on Big Brother Africa (BBA).
The programme, a reality TV show, ended last Sunday with a Nigerian girl, Offuneka Molokwu coming second.
House Committee on Information and National Orientation handed down the order after a meeting with the Director General of NBC, Mr Yomi Bolarinwa. Bolarinwa told the committee that the commission drew the attention of the management of MultiChoice to the nudity being shown on air.
Multichoice is the cable company that beamed the show live to subscribers in Nigeria and other parts of the globe.
He said the commission invited MultiChoice on two occasions when it observed that the company was contravening the laws guiding broadcasting in the country.
Chairman of the committee, Honourable Dino David Melaye, said that even though, the show has ended, the House was against showing the clips of the nudity displayed.
which he noted was not in consonant with African cultures and values.
“We will not tolerate a foreign company to abuse and insult the sensibility of our people. What was showed on the BBA was an insult on the image of Africa . This is why we ordered NBC, who regulate what goes on air to stop hence with any serialization, analysis or clips of the BBA.
“We condemned in totality, what happened on October 27thwhen a Nigerian was abused in the glare of the public. It is against the code of NBC and we have told the commission to discontinue any broadcast that has to do with BBA, “Dino said.
In view of the recklessness of the broadcasting outfit, he said that the National Assembly would determine the future of Multichoice in Nigeria , adding that it was incumbent on every nation to protect the choice and values of the people.
The live cast of inmates having sex had been condemned by viewers, while the emergence of a married man as the winner of the show equally attracted negative comments

Richard defends 'immoral' BBA show
NASONGELYA KILYINGA
Daily News; Friday,November 16, 2007 @00:04

Big Brother Africa II winner, Richard Bozuidenhout, flanked by MultiChoice Tanzania Public Relations Manager, Lucy Kihwele, stresses a point at a press conference in Dar es Salaam, yesterday.
RICHARD Bezuidenhout has said Big Brother Africa (BBA) TV reality show is designed to entertain and not to promote immorality as some people believe.

Richard, who scooped 100,000-US-dollar prize money after winning the BBA II show in South Africa, made the comments during his first press conference in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

"I know a lot has been said and more is still being said about the show.

The truth is, the show is purely meant to entertain. It is a game where you play in a free environment.

There were no standards to follow," he said.

The MultiChioce Tanzania Pubic Relations Manager, Lucy Kihwele, also defended the show vehemently, insisting that the BBA 2 show was strictly meant for people above 16 years

The show, which is very popular across the continent, and has been criticised for promoting immorality.

"I've not watched the show, but what I hear from people make me believe the show was disgusting.

It encourages adultery. I believe it corrupted our youngsters morally," said Pastor Emmanuel Frank of the Assemblies of God Church.

"The outcome of the results clearly shows that immorality triumphs over morality," one blogger said of Richard's victory.

However, Richard received a hero's welcome on his arrival in Dar es Salaam.

One of the people in attendance at the Julius Nyerere International Airport to welcome him was CCM Youth Wing, Dar es Salaam Region Secretary Sixtus Mapunda who led a number of traditional groups.

"In fact, he has made our country proud...his victory I am sure, promoted the country outside.

I believe it was purely for entertainment," he said.

Richard stands accused of betraying his wife Ricki by falling in love with fellow housemate Tatiana.

But a tired looking 25-year-old said he was still committed to his marriage.

"I will do everything possible to sustain my marriage," he said.

Big Brother ‘rapist’ wins                                                                                                                                             SCROLL DOWN FOR NEW UPDATE

A man accused of televised sexual assault has won Big Brother Africa, says
mark paterson in Johannesburg

The young man who caused a media frenzy after viewers claimed he had sexually assaulted a housemate live on Big Brother Africa yesterday won the reality show's first prize of $100,000.

Dreadlocked Richard Bezuidenhout, a 24-year-old film student from Tanzania, won the public vote, despite his role in an alcohol-fuelled threesome that has been dubbed 'Fingergate' by the African media. The girl he allegedly abused, 29-year-old Ofunneka Molokwu, a medical assistant from Nigeria, came second.

As reported on The First Post, viewers of the show watched in shock on October 28 as Bezuidenhout (left) appeared to insert his fingers into Molokwu's vagina after an extended drinking bout that left her and another female contestant vomiting

repeatedly before apparently blacking out. Paramedics had to be called in and the show's producers cut the live feed. The incident, slammed as "cheap porn" by South African women's rights campaigner Lisa Vetton, led viewers to flood newspapers and internet message-boards across the continent with emails expressing their outrage. M-Net, which produces the show in conjunction with Endemol SA, has denied any non-consensual sex took place.

At the weekend, in a studio in Johannesburg, I had the uncertain privilege of viewing what had been billed to me beforehand as an 'uncut' version of the incident. It turned out that 'uncut' meant a 12-minute edit taken from more than two hours of relevant footage.

Watching the tape in the company of three M-Net executives, I saw the housemates get plastered, fall over in a drunken heap, sob uncontrollably, and vomit - well, theat least. Meanwhile, Bezuidenhout, a married man, unbuttoned his trousers, boasted about his "machinegun" {penis} and taunted the female housemates with a pledge to "bump" them all. The camera then cut to the bedroom, filmed in muddy black-and-white night vision. Bezuidenhout was lying flat on his back in the middle of the bed. To his right, a huddled shape lay hidden beneath the duvet - Tatiana Durao, a 26-year-old Angolan with whom he has already had sex on the show. To his left lay Molokwu (pictured on previous page). Something was moving between her thighs - it looked like Richard's left hand. He seemed to be touching her private parts, and she seemed to be responding. She thrust her hips up and towards him, gripping his hand between her thighs. An idiot grin spread across Bezuidenhout's face.

The whole incident, rated suitable for 16-year-olds by the channel's censor, was filmed by a camera positioned so low that it looked right up between Ofunneka's thighs. The Big Brother producers have consulted with lawyers over the

incident. Molokwu has said on air that she has no recall of the events of that drunken afternoon - but that was before the series came to an end on Sunday, when she had yet to learn of the public outrage or see the incident from the perspective of the viewer. The big question is whether she was conscious of what was happening to her - and the footage I was shown suggests she was.

M-Net production executive Carl Fischer defended the show's treatment of its contestants to me, saying television executives were not just bound by the laws of South Africa but also by the Big Brother rules, which he described as "tougher than the Constitution". Of course, that worthy document doesn't demand that South Africa's citizens sign away all rights to freedom and dignity.

Ofunneka wasnt her self so she responded.....does a woman over indulgence in alchohol warrant sexual abuse?....as was reported above....he had an grin on his face......meaning he was himself....Why did he put that hand into Tatiana's virgina why into Ofu........Its a day light world wide watched rape aided by Endemol CHINNY

The governor of oil rich Delta State where Ofunneka hailed from has yesterday evening which was transmitted via Silver Bird Television promised to give her $100,000 that Big Brother organizers failed to give her on her return to Nigeria.
He stated that Ofunneka is the true winner since the rest of Africa voted her to win. He also said that she lost the vote just because she is a Nigerian.
He frown at the negative message the emergence of Richard as winner has sent across Africa.
He also declared that Ofunneka has done much better image-making job for Nigeria than what has been done by our lobbyists over the years and over US$100,000 was spent.
Some insiders believe :MNET has just chased herself out of Nigerian market especially now that their local HI-TV has taken over 80% of English premiership and LA liga matches.

Viewer’s opinion on Big brother Saturday’s drama

November 1st 2007 -

image Holder

[Richard and his mistress Tatiana]...chinny

One of our  readers, Eric recently sent a mail discussing The saturday events he claimed he initially posted it on a BBA thread but it was removed …here is what he had to say:

At the risk of being shot down, sworn at and abused by the die hard Richard fans who believe that no matter what their boy does he can do no wrong I will post this thread.

In the same way that some forumist have the right to say what they want and go to the extent of blaming Ricki, alcohol and whatever they will next concoct as an excuse I have the right to post this thread and be heard.

Throw all the insults you like – I will not be silenced.

It’s this simple

If BB truly believed that nothing untoward happened on Saturday then why were the HM offered to see a psychiatrist? The HM only apologized for over indulgence and nothing more. Since when does someone need to see a psychiatrist after excessive drinking.

BB is rated 16NL and in their statement they mention this and that parental control can and should be used. What transpired on Saturday Afternoon was most definitely not 16NL but rather 18SNL and one can almost add violence to that depending on your viewpoint. The producers could see what was happening however they continued to show the live footage. This is an indication that they were more interested in their ratings and gaining further viewers as well as votes in the final weeks of the show. The producers only chose to remove the cameras from the bedroom and focus on an empty garden once all events had transpired and the paramedics were brought in.
Richard has full recollection of what happened on Saturday because on Tuesday he threatened to finger Tatiana and Ofunneka during an argument. Someone would not make a statement like this out of the blue in an argument without making reference to a previous event.

More proof that Richard remembers is that he has full recollection of events as they transpired before and shortly after the event. He even recalls the paramedics entering the room and asking the one paramedic to kiss him on the cheek. Richard was also drunk as he also passed out in the diary room however due to the fact that he does remember in detail what transpired one has to conclude that he was in control of his actions.

If Ofunneka does remember what happened, then she is not bringing it out in the open yet. One must remember that they are isolated in the house and have no idea what the viewers see or think. It would be a big risk at this late stage of the game, and in the final race to win $100 000, to say anything as this could jeopardise her chances of winning especially knowing that Richard has survived so many evictions. This would also destroy Tatiana with whom she is friends. Bringing it out in the open would be going against both Richard and Tatiana.

The question now has to be asked that if she does indeed remember does that make her consenting. The answer is simple. Would she have done or allowed this selfish act to be done had she not been intoxicated especially with Tatiana lying on the bed next to Richard and herself. NO. Therefore she was not consenting.

Alcohol is sometimes used as an excuse for unacceptable behavior. When a man sexually assaults an acquaintance, he is seen as less responsible for his actions if he was drunk. Our societal double standard, however, results in the woman being seen as “to blame” for the assault if she was intoxicated. In addition, victims who were drinking when they were sexually assaulted tend to have more feelings of self-blame. It is important to remember that no one deserves to be sexually assaulted. Choosing to drink alcohol should not be equated with choosing to be sexually assaulted.

According to law, a person who is unconscious (passed out), or incapacitated, whether from alcohol, drugs, or illness, cannot give consent to sex. Therefore, if sexual contact occurs, it is sexual assault. When there is any uncertainty about your partner’s ability to give consent, it is wise to wait for another time. To engage in sexual activity with someone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs simply is against the law.

Debbie Harrison, director of KZN R ape Crisis, was aghast when she heard of the programme’s content. She is quoted as saying “If Bezuidenhout penetrated Malokwu with his fingers, as is alleged, then according to the new clauses contained in the Criminal Law Amendment Bill, it is an act of r ape, rather than sexual assault. The Bill says that if the woman is unable to consent to a sexual act, it constitutes ra pe”  www.tonight.co.za/index.php?fArticleId=4107339Richard’s fans won’t be happy about this Eric!!!                                    POST YOUR COMMENT here

Television viewers, anti-abuse activists and lawyers have condemned the airing of an episode of Big Brother Africa on M-Net on Saturday which showed acts of drunken debauchery and alleged non-consensual sex.

In the wake of the flighting of the programme, South Africans are asking just how far television broadcasters are prepared to go to boost viewership.

Saturday's antics may have laid both M-Net and Tanzanian contestant Richard Bezuidenhout open to charges of sexual assault or, alternatively, rape.

After 12 weeks, three contestants Nigeria's Offuneka Malokwu, Angolan "Tatiana" and Bezuidenhout are entering the home run as they vie for the $100 000 (R654 000) prize

'It is not only demeaning to one woman, but to women in general'
.

While the programme is habitually controversial, Saturday's episode pushed the boundaries in a way many viewers found unacceptable on moral and ethical grounds.

Bezuidenhout, Malokwu, Tatiana and Ugandan Maureen Namatovu (who has since been voted off) were seen consuming copious amounts of alcohol.

Bezuidenhout then tried to strip one contestant before allegedly sexually assaulting Malokwu by inserting his fingers into her vagina. Malokwu appeared to be almost comatose during the alleged act.

While many viewers have voiced their disgust at what they
